We are looking for a friendly, reliable and engaging Personal Assistant to join an established team supporting a young man with a learning disability and complex physical health needs.
Location: Deddington, Oxfordshire
Pay: £14.30 per hour weekdays | £18.59 per hour weekends
Hours: Day, evening and weekend shifts available

About the Role
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and engaging Personal Assistant to join an established team supporting a young man with a learning disability and complex physical health needs.
He lives in his own apartment attached to his family home in Deddington, giving him the opportunity to develop his independence while remaining close to his family and support network.
He is a sociable young man who enjoys trains and steam railways, car boot sales, cinema trips, coffee shops and restaurants, conventions, practical projects and spending time with friends.
This role is about much more than providing care. We are looking for someone who can build a positive relationship with him, encourage his independence and support him to enjoy an active and fulfilling life.
What You'll Be Doing
You will support him with everyday life, including getting out into the community, social activities, meal preparation, medication, mobility and developing his independent living skills.
He also has complex physical health needs, including respiratory needs. Support may include monitoring his respiratory wellbeing, oxygen therapy and nebulised medication.
Full training and competency assessment will be provided for all delegated healthcare tasks.
About You
We are looking for someone who is patient, dependable, positive and engaging and who enjoys helping someone get the most out of life.
You will need to be vigilant and observant, able to recognise changes in the young man's presentation or wellbeing and confident in reporting any concerns.
It is important that you can follow care plans, healthcare guidance and instructions accurately and consistently, particularly when supporting his complex physical health needs.
Previous care or complex health experience would be beneficial, but the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are equally important.
A shared interest in trains, days out, cinema, practical projects or simply going out for a coffee would be a bonus.
A driving licence would be advantageous due to the community-based nature of the role.
