Carer Personal Assistant, Top Valley of Nottingham NG5, NOTJG1910
This position is supporting a female in the Top Valley area of Nottingham.
The role consists of supporting a female with Cerebral Palsy and Asthma who is a hoist and wheelchair user and has a small dog. She lives in her own home. She has a vacancy for a Personal Assistant to work 19 hours a week.
The candidate will assist with getting out of bed every morning and into shower and washing hair and body, making the bed, getting dressed, changing incontinence pad, make and give breakfast, assisting with dog walk, cleaning, laundry, socialising and outdoors, shopping. Help with reading post/emails, attending appointments and any other required assistance.
Will need medication prompts, assistance organising her admin/paper work and day to day life, assist with general cleaning duties and laundry, possibly food preparation, shopping and supporting in social situations, occasional personal hygiene prompts. Accompanying to medical appointments is mandatory.
The ideal candidate will have experience and have an understanding, bubbly, outgoing, caring, positive and calm manner and happy to be around a small dog. Enjoying swimming is a bonus but not essential. Must be able to assist with slings and hoist.
Must be able to use own initiative and learn routines quickly. Experience of care work would be beneficial but full training will be given.
Working Hours – 19 hours per week Monday, Tuesday 8am – 10am 2 hours a day and Wednesday and Friday 8am – 3.30 pm 7.5 hours a day. Possible cover for other PA hours. Flexible with hours as may need to go to hospital appointments.
Salary: £10.76 per hour
5.6 weeks pro rata holiday allowance
