These positions are to support a young lady living in the Silverdale area of Nottingham
The young lady has learning difficulties and is unable to speak so will need 1:1 support and care. The support would entail pick up from day services, personal care, making sure she has something to eat going out for activities and taking her back home. This young lady is looking for someone who is kind, energetic, patient, caring, reliable and understanding. Although she cannot talk she has a lovely bubbly personality and is very affectionate, she can also (on occasions) have some challenging behaviours (Including biting/pinching/pulling hair).
Salary: £10:00 per hour 1 month trial to increase to £11.47
Holidays 5.6 weeks pro rata
Tuesday – Thursday 16:30 pick up from day centre take out for tea and an activity then return home for 19:30 (option for more hours and assist in bedtime routine)
Saturday or Sunday will involve taking the young lady out for an activity for 6-7 hours.
In addition, a sitting service for 4-5 hours as required, once a week (or alternate weeks) depending on needs of the family. These hours are all negotiable and dependent upon the young ladies other family and respite commitments.
Clear spoken English,
Caring, patient, kind, understanding and reliable.
Essential: Car Driver with own vehicle and no penalties.
Experience with special needs and young people desirable but not essential.
